We are seeking a skilled Actuary to join our dynamic team in Sandton. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating financial risks using mathematical and statistical methods. As an Actuary, you'll contribute to the development and evaluation of our insurance products, provide advice on risk management, and help shape the future of our services in the insurance industry. This role requires a high level of analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism in all aspects of the work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain actuarial databases for claims and loss data.
• Ensure data integrity through rigorous checks and validations.
• Communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders in an accessible manner.
• Advise management on risk mitigation strategies and best practices.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes impacting the insurance landscape.
• Contribute to the formulation of the company's long-term strategy.
• Assist in training junior actuaries and analysts.
• Liaise with reinsurance brokers regarding risk-sharing agreements.
• Support business development by providing actuarial insights on new market opportunities.
• Foster ongoing relationships with clients and industry peers.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Actuarial Science or Finance is advantageous
• Additional certifications (e.g., CFA) will be a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant actuarial experience.
