Rail Setter

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for setting and maintaining the rails on train tracks, ensuring safe and efficient transportation across our network. Your attention to detail and mechanical aptitude will be critical in this hands-on position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
• Assist with emergency track repairs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Conduct risk assessments in rail setting operations.
• Support the implementation of new technologies in rail maintenance.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Technical certification in rail settings is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in rail track installation, maintenance, or repair.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of safety protocols
• Ability to read technical drawings

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking
• Good interpersonal skills

Certifications

• Experience with heavy machinery

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience operating heavy machinery: Hands-on experience with machinery relevant to rail setting.
• Ability to interpret technical schematics: Capable of understanding and following detailed schematics and plans.
