Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Geoscientist to join our team in Mbombela. If you have a strong background in geological research and field studies, you will play a key role in investigating earth materials, evaluating geological data, and contributing to various environmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field studies and geological mapping to gather data.
• Analyze geological materials including soil, rock, and groundwater.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations of findings.
• Collaborate on environmental impact assessments and studies.
• Develop innovative approaches to geological research challenges.
• Use software and technology to model geological scenarios.
• Assist in educating teams on geological safety practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Environmental Science
• Higher degree in Geosciences is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in geology or environmental consulting

Technical Skills

• Field Research
• Modeling and Simulation Software

• Negotiation

Certifications

• Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) Certification
• LEED Green Associate

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with remote sensing techniques: Knowledge of satellite imagery and remote sensing for geological surveys.
• Project management experience: Demonstrated ability to lead geological projects effectively.
