Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing sound financial advice.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure business operations.
• Prepare and process journal entries for various financial transactions.
• Conduct variance analysis and report discrepancies.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior staff.
• Prepare detailed reports for management regarding financial performance.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
• Review accounting documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee payroll and employee compensation processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Honours degree in Accounting is an advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in an accounting environment

Technical Skills

• Financial Analysis
• Budgeting

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving

Certifications

• Certified General Accountant (CGA)
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Sage or similar accounting software: Hands-on experience with accounting software like Sage.
• Knowledge of IFRS standards: Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
