Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues while promoting welfare and preventive care. Responsibilities

• Conduct routine check-ups and preventive care for pets.
• Provide emergency veterinary care when needed.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and analyze results.
• Engage with pet owners to discuss treatment options.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Support the practice’s community outreach initiatives.
• Train and mentor support staff on best practices.
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss case management.
• Monitor the health and wellbeing of animals in our care.
• Ensure the clinic’s equipment and facilities are well maintained.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science
• Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in veterinary practice

Certifications

• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Additional specialization in surgery or internal medicine is a plus
