Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate Mental Health Professional committed to enhancing the wellbeing of our clients in Cape Town. You will be pivotal in providing therapeutic interventions and support that fosters mental health awareness and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose mental health disorders.
• Implement and evaluate therapeutic interventions.
• Facilitate support groups and educational workshops.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of client interactions.
• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
• Foster a supportive and non-judgmental environment for clients.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mental health counseling

Technical Skills

• Psychotherapeutic Techniques
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Certified Mental Health Professional (CMHP)
• Trauma-Informed Care Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Fluency in Afrikaans or Xhosa: Bilingual abilities enhance communication with diverse clients.
• Experience in community mental health settings: Experience working with community organizations to support mental health.
