Job Description

Seeking a passionate Environmental Consultant for our Johannesburg office! You will be responsible for environmental assessments, developing strategies for sustainability, and working closely with clients to navigate regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement environmental monitoring strategies.
• Conduct training workshops on environmental regulations and practices.
• Review and analyse technical documents and reports.
• Collaborate with local authorities on sustainability initiatives.
• Track and report on environmental performance metrics.
• Assist in the preparation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
• Provide technical assistance in environmental remediation projects.
• Work with clients to improve their environmental stewardship.
• Participate in strategic planning for sustainable development.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in Environmental Management or Sustainability are advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in environmental compliance and assessment

Technical Skills

• Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
• Sustainability Reporting

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• LEED Green Associate
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with environmental regulations in Southern Africa: Knowledge of local environmental laws and regulations.
• Project experience in sustainability initiatives: Hands-on experience in implementing sustainability practices.
