Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our Port Elizabeth team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of structural systems. This role requires a solid understanding of engineering principles and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design projects from conception through completion.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to ensure project specifications are met.
• Prepare and manage project budgets and timelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide training on engineering best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred
• PhD in Civil Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in structural design and analysis

Technical Skills

• Revit
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Time Management

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Civil Engineering Professional Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in SAP2000 and ETABS: Advanced skills in using SAP2000 and ETABS for complex structural analysis.
• Experience working on large-scale projects: Hands-on experience in managing large-scale construction projects from design to completion.
