Job Description

As a Recreation Worker at our facility, you will play a crucial role in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational activities designed to promote well-being and social interaction among our residents. Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities.
• Create an engaging environment that encourages participation from all residents.
• Document resident participation and provide feedback to improve future activities.
• Support residents in their personal care needs during activities.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to adapt activities based on individual needs.
• Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance program delivery.
• Maintain equipment and supplies to ensure a safe environment.
• Promote and support wellness initiatives through recreational programs.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience working with elderly populations is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Event Planning
• First Aid Training

Soft Skills

• Flexibility
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Certification in Recreational Therapy (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Fluency in multiple South African languages: Ability to communicate effectively with residents from diverse backgrounds.
