Job Description

As a Security Guard, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding people and property by monitoring premises and ensuring compliance with security protocols. This position requires vigilance and an ability to respond quickly to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols on foot and by vehicle to monitor the security of premises.
• Use surveillance systems to provide real-time monitoring of activities.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain a log of daily activities.
• Provide guidance and assistance to visitors and staff during emergencies.
• Engage effectively with community members to enhance security cooperation.
• Perform routine checks on equipment and security devices.
• Participate in regular training to stay current on security practices.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Regularly review and improve personal safety practices.
• Assist in investigations and follow procedures for reporting incidents.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Security Guard Certificate or PSIRA registration

Experience

• 3 years of experience in a similar role preferred

Technical Skills

• Risk assessment

Certifications

• PSIRA Registration
• Firearm Competency Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of self-defense techniques: Training in self-defense techniques to respond to threats effectively.
• Experience in conflict resolution: Background in de-escalating potential conflicts.
