Job Description

As an Emergency Management Officer in Grahamstown, you will be at the forefront of community safety, developing and implementing disaster preparedness plans. Your role will include coordinating emergency response efforts and working closely with local agencies to ensure effective crisis management.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and update emergency management policies.
  • Manage emergency response simulations and exercises.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and fire services during crises.
  • Develop educational materials on emergency preparedness.
  • Facilitate training for volunteers in emergency response.
  • Serve as a liaison between the community and emergency services.
  • Advocate for improved emergency management resources.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
  • Certification in emergency management or disaster response is preferred
