Election Watcher

Job Description

We are looking for dedicated Election Watchers who will play a critical role in monitoring polling stations during elections. The ideal candidates will ensure compliance with electoral laws, report irregularities, and assist in promoting voter education.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that polling stations are accessible and equipped for all voters.
• Engage with voters to clarify any concerns they may have about the voting process.
• Liaise with law enforcement to ensure a safe voting environment.
• Compile a final report on election monitoring findings for submission to the relevant authorities.
• Offer suggestions for improving future electoral processes based on accumulated observations.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant Degree in Public Administration or Governance

Experience

• 3-4 years of experience in electoral processes and public administration

Technical Skills

• GIS/Geo-spatial Mapping Tools

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Teamwork

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Familiarity with the South African Electoral System: Understanding of the electoral laws and procedures in South Africa.
• Data Analysis Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret quantitative data effectively.
