Thickener Operator

Job Description

As a Thickener Operator, you will be at the forefront of our mining operations, ensuring the safe and efficient control of the thickening process. This role is essential in maintaining production targets and adhering to environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor thickener parameters to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct routine inspections of the thickening equipment and report any anomalies.
• Implement maintenance schedules and assist in preventative maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with supervisors and other operators to enhance production processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues effectively.
• Document all operational activities and maintain accurate records.
• Educate team members on safety protocols and best practices in thickening operations.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 / Matric
• National Diploma in Chemical Engineering or similar

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience in thickener operations.

Technical Skills

• Thickener control systems
• Microsoft Office Suite

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• First Aid Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with flotation circuits: Hands-on experience operating flotation circuits in mining operations.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations: Strong understanding of environmental regulations applicable to mining.
