Behavioral Specialist - Cape Town - Special Education

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Behavioral Specialist to work with students in a dynamic educational setting. You will assess the needs of learners, develop personalized strategies, and provide guidance to staff and families, creating a supportive environment for all.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments to identify behavioral issues and develop intervention strategies.
• Work closely with classroom teachers to implement effective behavior management practices.
• Provide one-on-one support for students with challenging behaviors.
• Coordinate with external agencies and specialists to create a supportive network for students.
• Encourage positive social skills and self-regulation among students.
• Train staff and parents on behavioral techniques and strategies.
• Report and communicate effectively about student progress and strategies with all stakeholders.
• Evaluate and analyze the effectiveness of behavioral interventions regularly.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Special Education or related field
• Master's in Education or Applied Behavior Analysis is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years working with students with special needs
