Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Civil Engineer to contribute to various infrastructure projects in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and management of civil engineering projects. You will play a key role in ensuring all projects meet regulatory standards and are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Direct the design and planning phases of civil engineering projects.
• Review and approve engineering proposals and plans.
• Coordinate with local authorities and clients regarding project specifications.
• Conduct inspections and ensure adherence to safety regulations at all phases of construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance as needed.
• Evaluate project outcomes and suggest improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering projects

• Civil 3D
• Site Management

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Civil Engineering Technician Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Familiarity with geotechnical engineering principles: Understanding of soil behavior and stability related to civil projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D: Proficient in using Civil 3D for civil engineering designs.
