Prepress Technician

Job Description

As a Prepress Technician, you will play a vital role in transforming designs into printed products. Your attention to detail and technical expertise will ensure that all print materials meet high-quality standards. You will collaborate with designers and production teams to troubleshoot and refine layouts, ensuring timely delivery and excellence in final outputs.

Responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy of designs prior to printing.
• Advise on printability of designs and suggest necessary adjustments.
• Prepare mock-ups and samples for client approval.
• Assist in the setup of printing equipment according to specifications.
• Document and maintain records of prepress activities.
• Participate in quality control checks throughout the printing process.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts or similar field

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in the printing industry

Technical Skills

• Color Management
• Prepress Workflow Systems

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Previous work in a team-oriented environment: Experience collaborating within a high-volume printing operation.
• Fluency in multiple languages (e.g., Afrikaans): Ability to communicate effectively in more than one South African language.
