Actuarial Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Actuarial Analyst to join our Pretoria team. You will be involved in analyzing financial data, developing models, and providing insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with large datasets and possesses a keen analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of actuarial models and forecasts.
• Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights!
• Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary data.
• Support senior actuaries in reviewing assumptions and methodologies.
• Conduct research on industry trends and regulatory changes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Financial Engineering
• Master's degree in Actuarial Science is preferred

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in an actuarial role

Technical Skills

• R or Python
• Data Analysis Software

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Fellow of the actuarial society or equivalent

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with actuarial software like Prophet or similar: Hands-on experience using actuarial software for analysis.
• Knowledge of financial regulations in South Africa: Understanding of local financial regulations and compliance issues.
