Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing therapeutic support, conducting assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Administer psychological tests and interpret results to inform treatment planning.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to meet clients' emotional and psychological needs.
  • Work alongside a diverse team of professionals to deliver integrated mental health services.
  • Document treatment plans and progress notes in compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Support clients through crisis situations using appropriate therapeutic techniques.
  • Advise and educate families to enhance the support network for clients.
  • Contribute to peer supervision and professional practice discussions.
  • Develop and deliver workshops on mental health awareness in the community.
  • Research and stay updated on best practices in mental health care.
  • Assist in the development of mental health policies and protocols.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Additional qualifications in mental health assessment or therapy are advantageous
Experience
  • 3+ years of direct experience in mental health care settings
