Occupational Health and Safety Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Health and Safety Technician to ensure compliance with safety regulations and to foster a safe work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting audits, and providing training to staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures.
• Organize health and safety training sessions for employees.
• Facilitate safety committee meetings and document minutes.
• Perform regular site inspections and maintain safety records.
• Ensure sufficient safety equipment is available and in good condition.
• Prepare health and safety reports for management review.
• Collaborate with external agencies for regulatory compliance.
• Promptly report hazards and risks to management.
• Ensure all accidents are logged and investigated.
• Promote a culture of health and safety within the organization.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Science
• Advanced certification in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in the chemical sector is preferred.
