Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are in search of a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical systems and engineering principles, coupled with hands-on experience in the design and implementation of engineering projects. You will play a key role in developing innovative solutions and driving projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Create technical drawings and simulation models.
• Evaluate project performance against design specifications.
• Suggest design modifications for better performance.
• Assist with budget planning and cost estimation.
• Conduct root cause analysis for engineering problems.
• Communicate design concepts to stakeholders.
• Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Additional certifications in robotics or automation would be advantageous

Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in mechanical system design and implementation

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Professional Engineering License (PrEng)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment: Understanding of production processes and manufacturing standards.
