Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support and guidance to clients facing difficulties.
• Evaluate clients’ backgrounds and needs for better service delivery.
• Connect clients to relevant community resources.
• Ensure compliance with social work ethical standards.
• Advocate for systemic changes to address community issues.
• Support families through various life transitions.
• Maintain confidentiality and promote client trust.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work
• Master's degree in Social Work preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in a social worker role, preferably in community services

Technical Skills

• Case Management
• Crisis Counseling

Soft Skills

• Conflict Resolution
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Social Work Registration
• Trauma-Informed Care Training

Languages

• English: Fluent
• isiXhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• Skills in grant writing: Ability to write effective proposals for funding grants.
• Experience with collaborative projects: Working alongside other organizations on community projects is a plus.
