Marine Firefighter

Job Description

The Marine Firefighter will be responsible for responding swiftly to fire emergencies on ships, boats, and other marine vessels. You will work closely with emergency responders to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members, making critical decisions under pressure to prevent loss of life and property.

Responsibilities

• Engage in proactive fire prevention measures aboard marine vessels.
• Document fire drill outcomes and maintain compliance records.
• Lead emergency response drills and workshops for crew members.
• Evaluate and improve firefighting response protocols for maritime environments.
• Ensure all firefighting equipment is in working order and ready for use.
• Conduct safety briefings for passengers and crew on fire emergency procedures.
• Develop incident reports for review by marine safety personnel.
• Serve as a communication liaison during emergencies between vessels and shore.
• Supervise junior firefighting staff during drills and actual emergencies.
• Monitor and inspect marine safety equipment and safety zones.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Valid Driver's License

Experience

• Experience in firefighting on marine vessels is advantageous.
