Bolter Helper

Job Description

As a Bolter Helper, you will assist the Bolter Operator in all aspects of underground mining operations. Your role will involve the safe operation of bolting machines, rock drills, and maintaining the work area to ensure a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Bolter Operator to ensure the efficient operation of machinery.
• Conduct regular inspections of bolting and drilling equipment.
• Assist in training new team members on equipment use and safety protocols.
• Take part in the evaluation of operational procedures to improve efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Follow all safety protocols to reduce workplace accidents.
• Assist with inventory management of tools and gear.
• Provide feedback on work processes for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Formal qualification in mining or a related field is advantageous

Experience

• No previous experience required, although experience in mining or related industry is advantageous.

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with bolting machines: Hands-on experience operating and maintaining bolting machines.
