Personal Care Aide

Job Description

As a Personal Care Aide (Direct Support Professional), you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities through their daily routines. You will assist with personal care, provide companionship, and ensure clients' well-being in a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in daily tasks, including hygiene, mobility, and medication management.
• Create a nurturing environment through companionship and social engagement.
• Monitor and document clients' health and report any changes.
• Facilitate access to recreational activities and community events.
• Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by collaborating with other care team members.
• Uphold confidentiality and respect for all clients.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or equivalent preferred

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities

• Effective Communication

Certifications

• First Aid and CPR Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Fluent
