We are on the hunt for a Process Safety Specialist to enhance our operations in Richards Bay. The successful candidate will be instrumental in assessing and mitigating process safety risks, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular safety audits and inspections of facilities.
• Review and update safety documentation and training materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify safety opportunities.
• Assess the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives.
• Stay informed on changes in safety legislation and regulations.
• Support the development of process safety management systems.
• Contribute to incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Guide and mentor junior safety personnel in best practices.
• Manage safety-related projects and initiatives.
• Communicate safety updates and critical information to stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualifications in safety management would be beneficial

Experience

• 5+ years in industrial process safety roles within the chemical industry
