We are seeking an experienced Emergency Management Coordinator to join our Johannesburg team. You will be responsible for leading emergency preparedness initiatives and coordinating responses to various crises. The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of emergency management protocols and the ability to respond effectively under pressure.

Job Responsibilities

Lead emergency response operations and make real-time decisions.
Facilitate communication between all stakeholders during emergencies.
Develop training materials for staff on emergency procedures.
Assess community needs and resources for emergency management.
Establish a network with local emergency services and NGOs.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of emergency response efforts.
Create public awareness campaigns around safety practices.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities.
Maintain accurate records of all emergency management activities.
Participate in continuous professional development in emergency management.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, or a related field
Master's degree is preferred
Crisis Management Proficient in managing crises effectively with strategic approaches.
Risk Assessment Skilled in evaluating and prioritizing risks to prepare for emergencies.
Incident Command Systems Familiar with the Unified Command System for emergency responses.
First Aid & CPR Certified in first aid and CPR to provide immediate assistance during emergencies.
Leadership Strong leadership skills to guide teams through crises.
Communication Effective communicator, both verbal and written, to coordinate with various stakeholders.
Analytical Thinking Capable of analyzing situations quickly to make sound decisions.
Problem-Solving Excellent problem-solving skills to devise solutions in emergencies.

National Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) Certification
English (Fluent)
Afrikaans (Conversational)
