Job Description

As a Museum Technician and Conservator, you will play a crucial role in the preservation and restoration of cultural artifacts and artworks. Your expertise in chemistry, materials science, and art history will be vital in ensuring that our collections are maintained to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource for museum staff regarding artifact care and handling.
  • Develop community workshops that educate the public on the significance of artifact preservation.
  • Collaborate with educational programs to integrate conservation into public learning.
  • Research and recommend new conservation materials and tools for the museum.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Art Conservation, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field
  • Master's degree in Art Conservation or related field is preferred
Experience
  • Experience working with cultural institutions such as museums, galleries, or libraries
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment

Languages
