Responsibilities

• Evaluate animal health and communicate findings to pet owners effectively.
• Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests to inform treatment strategies.

• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive learning environment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the practice.
• Maintain equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and clean environment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent

Experience

• 3+ years of clinical experience in small animal practice

Technical Skills

• Anaesthesia Management
• Soft Tissue Surgery

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Registered Veterinarian
• Emergency and Critical Care certification preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Proficient

Advantageous

• Special interest in dermatology or cardiology: An emphasis on further specialization in these fields is advantageous.
• Certification in acupuncture or alternative therapies: Preferred qualifications in holistic approaches to animal care.
