Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer to join our Pretoria team. You will play a crucial role in designing and overseeing the construction of a variety of projects ranging from residential buildings to large-scale commercial complexes. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of engineering principles and be ready to tackle complex design challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design structural elements and systems while ensuring adherence to safety codes.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations to assess the viability of projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to complete structural designs and specifications.
• Review and approve design and construction documents.
• Monitor the construction process to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Perform calculations and analyses to evaluate the strength and stability of structures.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an added advantage

Experience

• 4-6 years of structural engineering experience

Technical Skills

• Revit
• Structural Analysis Software

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Time Management

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in seismic design: Familiar with regulations and techniques used in seismic-resistant design.
