Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Freight Coordinator to oversee and manage logistics operations in Cape Town. This role is essential in ensuring timely and efficient freight movement, working closely with suppliers and transportation partners.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full freight process from pickup to delivery.
  • Liaise with customs for shipments requiring documentation.
  • Use logistics software to manage tracking of all shipments.
  • Analyze shipping data to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and partners.
  • Contribute to the development of logistical policies and strategies.
  • Provide training and support to junior logistics staff.
  • Maintain an accurate database of shipments and deliveries.
  • Prepare reports on freight operations and performance metrics.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics department.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, with a focus on freight coordination preferred
