Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. In this role, you will provide comprehensive medical care to a variety of patients. You will work closely with pet owners and collaborate with a team of veterinary professionals to deliver the best possible care. Responsibilities include diagnosing animal health problems, administering vaccines, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper animal care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in animals.
• Support clients with pet health advice and recommendations.
• Perform medical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Conduct surgeries and post-operative care.
• Engage in community education about animal care.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary laws and regulations.
• Supervise and mentor veterinary technicians.
• Manage case load effectively while maintaining care standards.
• Document complete medical records for each treatment.
• Work collaboratively with external veterinarians if needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)
• Additional qualifications in animal behavior preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in a mixed-animal practice
