Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. In this role, you will provide comprehensive medical care to a variety of patients. You will work closely with pet owners and collaborate with a team of veterinary professionals to deliver the best possible care. Responsibilities include diagnosing animal health problems, administering vaccines, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper animal care.

Responsibilities

• Examine and diagnose animal health issues in pets and wildlife.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as required.
• Perform routine and surgical procedures in a safe manner.
• Communicate with pet owners regarding treatment plans.
• Keep up-to-date with veterinary medical science.
• Assist in training of junior veterinary staff.
• Participate in continuing education activities.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies.
• Assist with the management of veterinary practice procedures.
• Provide compassionate care to animals in distress.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)
• Additional qualifications in animal behavior preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in a mixed-animal practice

• Certified Veterinary Practice Manager
