Payroll Specialist

Job Description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and in a timely manner. Your attention to detail will ensure that employee data is correctly captured, and compliance with local regulations is maintained. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Execute bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage payroll information for new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.
• Assist with compliance and payroll reporting for audits.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing payroll inquiries from staff.
• Support HR in benefits administration and time-off tracking.
• Keep abreast of legislative changes affecting payroll.
• Assist in preparing financial statements related to payroll.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the payroll function.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Payroll Management or HR
• Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years in a similar payroll role

• IRS Compliance Knowledge

Certifications

• Payroll Certification from South African Payroll Association

Languages

• English: Fluent
