Public Health Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Public Health Specialist to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health programs that promote well-being and prevention strategies. You'll engage with community stakeholders to advocate for health initiatives and ensure that our services meet local needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement public health programs aimed at community health improvement.
• Conduct health assessments to identify community health needs and trends.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including government agencies and non-profits.
• Monitor and evaluate public health initiatives to ensure effectiveness.
• Advocate for policies that promote community health and wellness.
• Educate the community about health issues and preventive measures.
• Prepare reports and presentations on public health statistics.
• Participate in research activities related to public health.
• Assist in grant writing for public health funding.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health is strongly preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in public health project management
