Landscape Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a creative and skilled Landscape Architect to join our innovative team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing diverse landscape projects, from urban parks to residential gardens. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of environmental sustainability and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop landscape design concepts for a variety of projects including parks, gardens, and public spaces.
• Conduct site analysis and assess environmental conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including urban planners and architects, to create cohesive designs.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and present designs to clients.
• Select appropriate plants, materials, and construction methods for landscape implementation.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations regarding sustainability and environmental impact.
• Manage project schedules and budgets to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Monitor construction sites to ensure adherence to the design specifications.
• Provide post-implementation landscape maintenance advice.
• Engage with community stakeholders to gather feedback and input on design plans.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field
• Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in landscape design or architecture

• AutoCAD
• SketchUp
• Adobe Creative Suite

Soft Skills

• Creativity
• Communication

Certifications

• Registered Landscape Architect (RLA)
• LEED Green Associate

Languages

• English: Fluent
