Architect

Job Description

As an Architect with our firm in Durban, you'll work closely with clients and stakeholders to create stunning architectural solutions. You will lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring all designs are innovative, practical, and environmentally sustainable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations to ensure compliance.
• Review and approve design drafts and modifications.
• Assist with project documentation and reporting.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
• Conduct research for sustainable materials and methods.
• Mentor junior architects and interns in design and development processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture
• Master's in Urban Planning or related field is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in architectural practice

Technical Skills

• BIM Software (Revit, ArchiCAD)
• Sustainable Design Practices

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• SACAP Registration
• Practical experience with the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with landscape architecture: Ability to integrate landscape design with architectural planning.
• Previous project management experience: Experience overseeing project timelines and deliverables.
