Job Description

Our dynamic team is looking for a Clinical Psychologist to enhance our mental health services in Pietermaritzburg. Responsibilities include offering therapeutic interventions, assessments, and developing treatment plans tailored to individual needs. The successful candidate will be an advocate for mental health awareness and a strong supporter of community wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and diagnose psychological conditions in clients.
  • Create and implement therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs.
  • Work alongside psychiatrists and social workers for coordinated care.
  • Facilitate psychoeducation sessions in the community.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices in therapy sessions.
  • Advocate for clients’ mental health needs and resources.
  • Engage in research and case studies to enhance clinical knowledge.
  • Participate in supervision and peer review sessions.
  • Promote a positive therapeutic environment for client engagement.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field
  • Specialist Training in Clinical Psychology is preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years in therapeutic settings
