Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Civil Rights Advocate to join our team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will work on critical issues surrounding civil liberties and human rights, advocating for those who need it most. Ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to social justice and a background in advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for policy reforms that enhance civil liberties.
  • Develop educational materials to inform the public about their rights.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the non-profit and public sectors.
  • Facilitate workshops and community meetings.
  • Conduct interviews and gather testimonies to support advocacy efforts.
  • Collaborate on projects with other non-profit organizations.
  • Track trends and cases related to civil rights to inform advocacy work.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Social Sciences, or related field
  • Master's degree is an advantage

  • 3+ years of experience in advocacy or civil rights work
