Spotter Driver

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a capable Spotter Driver to join our operations team. This role involves assisting with the logistics of trailer and container movements, ensuring all procedures are followed to maintain a safe and efficient environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers and containers around the warehouse yard using a spotter truck.
• Assist truck drivers in backing up and parking trailers.
• Perform safety checks on vehicles and equipment before use.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer and container movements.
• Work collaboratively with warehouse and transportation teams to ensure timely operations.
• Identify and address any safety or operational issues in the yard.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Spotter Driver in a logistics or transport environment

Technical Skills

• Forklift operation
• Vehicle inspection

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Attention to detail
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Valid Code 10 driver's license
• Forklift license (advantageous)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with yard management software: Familiarity with digital tools for managing yard operations.
• Experience in a high-pressure environment: Ability to maintain composure and efficiency under pressure.
