Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Flag Signaler to join our team. The Flag Signaler will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians in construction areas by directing traffic and providing clear signals to drivers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure workers, pedestrians, and vehicles are safe in active construction zones.
• Utilize hand signals and flags to manage oncoming traffic.
• Stay alert and responsive during shift hours.
• Report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Assist with the setup of traffic control equipment as needed.
• Conduct regular checks on the functionality of traffic signals.
• Engage with the community to provide safety information.
• Train new flaggers on proper signaling techniques.
• Document daily activities and site conditions accurately.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience in construction or safety roles is advantageous.

Certifications

• Traffic Safety Certification (Preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Basic knowledge of construction site safety: Understanding of safety practices and potential hazards on construction sites.
