Job Description

Our team is searching for a dedicated Mental Health Counsellor to join our practice in Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for providing individual and group therapy sessions, assisting clients in navigating their mental health challenges. Your expertise will contribute to crafting personalized treatment plans and promoting mental wellness within our community. An empathetic approach and strong communication skills will be key to your success in making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on recovery and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with clients to set achievable goals and develop coping strategies.
  • Evaluate mental health assessments and provide appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment during therapy sessions.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and case consultations.
  • Engage with families to provide support and education regarding mental health.
  • Research and implement new therapeutic approaches that may benefit clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Advocate for client needs within the community and healthcare system.
  • Participate in professional networks to stay informed about mental health trends.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field
  • Clinical training certification is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in mental health counseling
