Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our dedicated team in Knysna. In this role, you will provide medical care and treatment to a variety of animals, ensuring their health and well-being. You will work closely with pet owners, conducting examinations, diagnosing illnesses, and providing appropriate treatments. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal care and possesses strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat injuries and diseases in a variety of animals.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding diagnosis and treatment options.
• Perform surgical interventions and post-operative care.
• Provide integral health education to pet owners.
• Keep medical records updated for patient visits and treatments.
• Participate in community outreach and vaccination drives.
• Remain current with advancements in veterinary care and participate in continuing education.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Veterinary Science is preferred
• Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)

Experience

• 3+ years of experience working in a clinic setting

• Animal Behavior Assessment
• Pharmaceutical Management

Soft Skills

• Customer Service
• Leadership

Certifications

• Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS)
• Pet CPR and First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
