Job Description

As a Water Treatment Plant Operator, you will play a critical role in monitoring and maintaining water treatment processes to ensure the delivery of safe drinking water. You will be responsible for operating machinery, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to safety protocols to maintain effective and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular monitoring of treatment processes and water quality.
• Document daily operations and report discrepancies proactively.
• Conduct risk assessments and promote corrective actions.
• Implement and oversee routine maintenance schedules for machinery.
• Collaborate with environmental teams to reduce plant impact.
• Provide exceptional service and support to the community.
• Drive initiatives on waste minimization and recycling.
• Assist in regulatory compliance audits and inspections.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals used in treatment.
• Act as a point of contact for plant visits and tours.

Requirements

Education

• Matric/Grade 12 certificate
• National Diploma in Water Care or related field is an advantage.

Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in water treatment operations.

Certifications

• Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
