Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of structures while ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards. You will collaborate with architects and other engineers to deliver high-quality projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and document structural solutions for a range of projects.
• Analyze the structural integrity of existing buildings.
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors during the construction phase.
• Review and approve technical submittals from contractors.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new projects.
• Prepare detailed technical reports for project stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines and ensure on-time delivery.
• Facilitate communication among project team members.
• Evaluate and implement innovative practices in design and construction.
• Participate in safety training and uphold safety standards on site.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive experience in a structural engineering role

• Revit
• Project Management Software

Certifications

• Civil Engineering Technologist
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Geotechnical Engineering: Knowledge of geotechnical principles and their application in structural design.
