Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Planner to enhance our team in Johannesburg. In this position, you'll collect data on transport patterns, evaluate infrastructure projects, and collaborate with government agencies to improve transport services, making a lasting impact on the community's transportation landscape.

Responsibilities

• Assess current transportation systems and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop effective strategies for public transport enhancements.
• Collaborate with local authorities to streamline transport operations.
• Conduct traffic flow studies to manage congestion.
• Draft proposals and reports for new transport initiatives.
• Utilize GIS tools to create detailed transportation plans.
• Work with engineers and designers to ensure practical solutions.
• Facilitate community engagement processes for project feedback.
• Review and assess environmental impacts of transport projects.
• Research best practices in transport planning globally.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies, Transport Engineering, or related field
• Postgraduate degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in transport planning or related fields
