Job Description

In the role of Insurance Underwriter, you will be tasked with evaluating risks and exposures associated with insurance applications. This position requires strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to maximize client satisfaction and business growth.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk evaluations and offer risk management solutions.
• Track underwriting processes from application through to policy issuance.
• Identify and address potential risks that could impact the business.
• Liaise with external parties including agents and other insurance companies.
• Assist in strategic decision-making regarding policy pricing and limits.
• Engage in continuous education to maintain industry knowledge and compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in the insurance industry focusing on underwriting

• Regulatory Knowledge

Certifications

• CII (Chartered Insurance Institute)
• FCII (Fellowship of the Chartered Insurance Institute)

• Bilingual – ability to communicate in Afrikaans: Proficiency in Afrikaans is an advantage for client communications.
