Pharmacist

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense medications following prescriptions.
• Educate patients on proper medication usage.
• Monitor and document patient responses to medication therapy.
• Work with healthcare teams to adjust medication regimens as needed.
• Provide consultations regarding prescription and over-the-counter medications.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean and organized.
• Keep abreast of new medications and treatments in the market.
• Perform medication reconciliation for patients transitioning to a new care setting.
• Participate in pharmacist-led initiatives and outreach programs.
• Conduct patient medication reviews to identify any issues.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a related field
• Advanced certification in pharmacy practice preferred

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in a community pharmacy role

Technical Skills

• Clinical pharmacy skills
• Regulatory knowledge

Certifications

• Advanced Pharmacy Practice Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic
