Job Description

A Wood Hacker plays a crucial role in our production team, responsible for cutting and shaping wood to precise specifications for furniture and construction. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in interpreting blueprints, operating machinery, and ensuring quality control.

Responsibilities

• Use woodworking machinery and hand tools to shape wood into specified design.
• Monitor equipment for performance and safety standards.
• Assist in maintaining an organized and clean work environment.
• Follow safety instructions to prevent workplace accidents.
• Work collaboratively with the team to improve production efficiency.
• Document production processes and maintain accurate logs.
• You may also be required to perform routine maintenance on machinery.
• Report any machinery or equipment malfunctions to management.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new techniques and tools.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Woodworking or carpentry qualification or apprenticeship preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in woodworking or carpentry

Technical Skills

• Proficient in woodworking tools and machinery
• Blueprint reading
• Attention to detail

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous
