Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Chemical Engineer to join our talented team in Durban. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical process design and optimization, striving to enhance operational efficiency and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design production experiments and analyze data.
• Work closely with manufacturing to ensure equipment operates effectively.
• Participate in technical meetings with partners and customers.
• Implement waste reduction and recycling initiatives.
• Support quality assurance and process validation efforts.
• Contribute to the development of training materials for staff.
• Assist in developing safety protocols for use in the lab and production.

Requirements

Education

• BSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• MSc in Chemical Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a chemical engineering capacity

Technical Skills

• CAD Software
• Process Simulation Software

• Leadership
• Critical Thinking

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Process Optimization Techniques: Understanding of various techniques to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.
