Job Description

The Deck Mechanic is pivotal in maintaining and repairing the decks and equipment of our marine vessels. This role requires hands-on expertise and the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of vessel machinery and decks.
• Diagnose mechanical issues quickly and accurately.
• Perform routine maintenance according to scheduled plans.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure compliance with maritime safety standards.
• Work closely with the engineering team to improve vessel performance.
• Assist in emergency repairs and ensure vessels are ready for operation.
• Maintain good working relationships with crew members.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and improvements in marine engineering.

Requirements

Education

• Trade qualification in mechanical engineering
• Certification in welding or electrical engineering

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance
