Job Description

Join our team as an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist. You will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring goods to ensure compliance with quarantine regulations. This role is vital in protecting public health and managing biosecurity risks in our agricultural sector.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular audits on quarantine compliance procedures and practices.
• Develop and update safety policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements.
• Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge of health and safety standards.
• Advise on the proper handling, storage, and transportation of agricultural products.
• Coordinate with local health and safety authorities to align operations with public health guidelines.
• Conduct workshops to raise awareness of safety measures among staff and stakeholders.
• Assist in emergency preparedness planning and response strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
• Master's degree in Environmental Health or Safety Management is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in quarantine inspections or related regulatory roles.

Technical Skills

• Database management systems
• Proficient in using safety monitoring software

Soft Skills

• Leadership skills

Certifications

• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor

Languages

• English: Fluent
